How long does the Academy take?

Almost all of our members have full-time jobs while going through the IDOL courses Academy.

We recommend 5-7 hours a week of doing something towards your IDOL goal. If you want to land your job (including interviews) in less than 3 months you'll probably need to increase this time commitment to 15-20 hours per week.  The IDOL courses Academy is self-paced, but with 4 levels of support (coaches, mentors, group coaching, and our community).

Each cohort offers 50+ hours of live content (amount varies with the number of mentors serving the cohort).
As of Oct 2021 there is over 100 hours of asynchronous content in the available in the Academy.

It's all about doing the deliberate practice of instructional design while building assets for your portfolio at the same time. We don't have traditional assignments or quizzes, or grades, or anything like a traditional university.  INSTEAD, we are the trade school of instructional design and online learning development that serves clients while developing the next generation of creative learning designers.

The more you put in the more you'll get out.

Our members that are committed to creating the portfolio, resume, and LinkedIn profile usually land their first job anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months working on their own schedule.

The only thing we recommend you go to live are the IDOL mentor sessions. They host one a week for an hour for all 8 weeks. This gives you a mentor who can help you, an accountability group with your other mentees, and your mentor will also keep you accountable to reach the goals you set for yourself.

Time is based on you, your schedule, and how much you can put into doing the work to become an IDOL.

We support you with a roadmap, self-directed training, credentials, mentorship, coaching, feedback, tools, templates, resources, and workshops. We provide the live support in 8-week blocks that we call cohorts.
You can join all cohorts after you enroll. You can be a part of any and all new cohorts. We start a new cohort 3 times a year.

Hope this helps!
